‘O’er the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave’!

June 27, 2018

4th of July

There’s simply no better place to celebrate Independence Day than in a military community like ours. We call this area “America’s Hometown” because we are home to some of our nation’s finest military forces. Delve into the history of Cumberland County, and you’ll see how deep our patriotic roots run—all the way back to the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. For these reasons, we take a little more pride in the 4th of July. This year, we’ll be stretching out the festivities over five days and across the county. In addition to traditional fireworks shows, our visitors have a chance to honor our military heroes, float down a river, watch a parade, grub out on food trucks, dance by a lake, and much more. Join us for this five-day celebration of independence in America’s Hometown!

And because nothing says summertime like a good hamburger, join me for “A Burger Tour of Cumberland County.” For even more summertime fun, I recommend using the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Calendar of Events to help plan your visit to America’s Hometown.
